Jenny Recktenwald serves as Director of Marketing and Communications with TARC, the Transit Authority of River City, in Louisville, Kentucky. She is responsible for all internal and external communications for Kentucky’s largest transit agency, with a $100 million annual budget and a 700+ employee and contractor workforce. Within six months, she has overseen the redevelopment of TARC’s website, launched a comprehensive marketing campaign, and expanded outreach to employees through multi-channel communications.

Jenny is a veteran communications and marketing professional with experience in human services, healthcare and HR technology, economic development, and higher education. She co-founded and served as Interim Director of OneWest, a community development corporation focused on economic revitalization in west Louisville. Under her direction, OneWest developed a long-term strategic plan and launched a $10 million capital campaign that has since exceeded its goal.

Jenny has extensive community service and nonprofit leadership experience, including her work with Volunteers of America Mid-States, Kentucky Refugee Ministries, and the local chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, among other organizations. She earned graduate and undergraduate degrees from the University of Louisville and is a member of Leadership Louisville’s Bingham Fellows 2014 and 2020 classes.
